Move to Stapleton: A resident Realtor's view of the Stapleton Community! #6
After this past weekend & upcoming week of events, I thought it only appropriate to note my number 6 reason to move to Stapleton. How the Stapleton community has given me new friends & neighbors.
This weekend was our Neighborhood progressive party. It was so great to reminisce about our move to Stapleton. When purchasing a new home in Stapleton about 6 years ago, we joined about 60 households who all moved in at about the same time. This was great because everyone was in the same boat- Our new house was surrounded by new faces and everyone was discovering new relationships. So not only was the flash back fun, but it was great to celebrate new neighborhood holiday traditions!
Early on, a neighborhood girls night was formed as well. We meet once a month and different ladies volunteer to host. Some will host at their home, we will meet at a local restaurant or go off campus (meaning to leave the neighborhood.) These once a month gatherings have really made our neighborhood close and our move to Stapleton personally beneficial. Not everyone shows up every month but you know you can at least count on a hand-full of ladies to come out & let loose. These are the same ladies that will support each other by bringing over a meal when someone has a baby or someone is sick. It really is what makes your neighborhood a community- Your house your home.
Within the whole neighborhood a lot of groups have formed that really reflect the social and diverse aspect of the Stapleton community. Book clubs, Grandparents of Stapleton Children, Jewpleton, stroller exercise groups, Gaypleton, & the list goes on. Damon, my husband & real estate partner, belongs to Eastbridge men's club (similar to my girls group) and Fight club- sounds tough but really just a group of guys meeting for late night happy hour to discuss hot topics & sports. We are also a very active in our neighborhood, and our neighborhood is very active in the development and in the city. Stapleton United Neighbors, Greater Stapleton Business Association, the Citizen's Advisory Board, PTA groups & many others help mold our community and the city. Our move to Stapleton has really made us both very interested and active, which keeps us totally up to date with happenings in our neighborhood that effect our community.
Several Realtors call Stapleton home, which of course says a lot about what we have here. This past year Damon & I decided to start a networking group with Stapleton resident Realtors- SCORE Stapleton CO-OP of Realtor Excellence. The idea that agents would preview each others listings, give feedback on condition & price and also be able to talk about issues in our neighborhood. It was also meant to help relationships between agents when working together to make a positive transaction for all parties.
Our neighbors that have become our friends have made my move to Stapleton such a positive experience.
